Payments glossary

What is a webhook?

A webhook is an HTTP request a service sends to your server when something happens, such as a payment succeeding, so your system can react without polling.

Webhooks can arrive more than once or out of order, so receivers should verify them, deduplicate by event ID and respond quickly.

How it works in Allidian

Allidian sends signed webhooks like payment.succeeded and invoice.paid, retries failed deliveries with backoff, and lets you replay events from the dashboard.

The future of payments is connected.
