Payments glossary
What is a chargeback?
A chargeback, or dispute, happens when a cardholder asks their bank to reverse a payment. The bank pulls the funds back from the merchant until the dispute is resolved.
Merchants can usually respond with evidence such as receipts or delivery confirmation. High dispute rates can lead providers to restrict an account.
How it works in Allidian
Allidian shows a read-only dispute timeline. Evidence is submitted through your provider where it allows it, and your provider decides the outcome with the card network.
